Fortunately, one can be prepared for the crises by advance simulations and developing crisis preparedness and simulating in advance potential crisis situations.
The objective for exercising for crisis communication preparedness is to simulate realistic crisis situations and to develop the capacity of the crisis communication group for crisis management. Practicing realistic crises produces experiences that are beneficial in the face of an actual crisis situation. Simulation produces a crisis experience.

- Decisions what crisis the excercise will cover
- Planning the different stages and measures to the crisis process
Simulation excercise
- The objective is to simulate the actions of the group upon a changing situation or upon meeting unexpected distractions.
- The exercise lasts for about two hours and it is to be stopped if all the stages of the exercise are completed
- The functionality of the crisis communication process is assessed after the completion of the exercise
- Crisis communication guidelines and form templates are developed or new utilities are prepared as required on the basis of issues that emerged during the exercises
As a result the preparedness for crisis communication is remarkably improved and crisis communication guidelines are updated.
