Manifesto’s Blog Barometer 2011
PR Agency Manifesto’s Blog Barometer 2011 is a yearly survey of the Finnish lifestyle blogosphere, the current edition of which is a continuation of the PR Agency Manifesto’s earlier surveys made in 2010 and 2009.
The survey was undertaken in June 2011 in the form of an online questionnaire. Invited to participate in the survey were bloggers whose blogs are listed as among the most read in terms of website visitor numbers, by services such as bloglista.fi and oindex.fi. The topics of Finland’s most popular blogs mainly deal with style, trends, beauty, interior design, food, and wellbeing.
Manifesto’s Blog Barometer concentrates on lifestyle blogs, and in addition to the fashion, beauty, interior design, and wellbeing blogs included last year, blogs dealing with health and sports were also invited.
According to the survey, bloggers feel that they are sharers of their own experiences, and practisers of self-expression. Bloggers retell their lives very subjectively. Compared to previous years, however, more and more bloggers feel that they are open and honest brokers of information, as well as experts and sharers of information.
The most important objective for bloggers is the sharing of information and experiences through their blogs. Networking, having fun, earning a living, and professional development are also key goals.
Bloggers have become a key interest group with which contact is actively kept. With the increase in company contacts, the understanding of this new interest group is highlighted.
